# How do I go to a specific date on the chart?

**Press `Alt+G`** (`Option+G` on macOS). The **Go to Date** dialog opens:

1. Under **From**, type the date as YYYY/MM/DD or pick it on the calendar.
2. Under **Time**, set the time on a 24-hour clock. It reads in the chart's time zone: [change the time zone](/learn/faq/chart/timezone-and-12-hour-clock).
3. Click **Apply**, or press `Enter`.

The active chart jumps to that moment and loads the bars around it. Other charts in your layout stay where they are.

You can also open the dialog from super search (`Ctrl/Cmd+K`) or from the Action Dialog (`Ctrl/Cmd+P`): the command is called **History** there and in the keyboard shortcuts.

## Get back to the latest bar

Press `Alt+Shift+Right` (**Scroll to the most recent bar**), or `Alt+R` (**Reset chart range**).

## Limits

- A date older than the chart's history at that interval is refused: the chart stays put and marks where its data ends. A higher interval reaches further back: see [How far back does chart history go?](/learn/faq/data-symbols/how-far-back-does-history-go)
- Go to Date does not work while a replay runs. Replay has its own **Jump** to pick a start date: see [How do I replay past candles?](/learn/faq/chart/replay-the-market)
