Yes, and it is free. A connected AI agent can read your charts and, if you allow it, change them for you: switch the symbol or timeframe, add indicators and draw. You see every change on your chart as it happens. You set it up from OpenMarket on a computer, signed in to your account.
How do I connect Claude Code, Codex or Cursor?
- Click Agents in the footer, at the bottom left. The Connect an Agent dialog opens with one sentence in it.
- Click the copy icon beside the sentence.
- Paste the sentence into your agent. The agent adds OpenMarket by itself.
- Your browser opens once to sign in. In Claude Code, run
/mcpand choose Authenticate to open it. Choose the agent's access, such as Read only or Read and control charts, and click Authorize. No token is needed. - The dialog shows Waiting for your agent, then the agent's name once it connects. A dot on Agents shows that an agent is connected.
This works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents that can run commands.
How do I connect ChatGPT or the Claude app?
Chat apps add OpenMarket in their own settings. In the Connect an Agent dialog, click Set up manually to open the Agents page. Under Or add it yourself, pick Claude (web and desktop) or ChatGPT to see the address to paste, https://mcp.openmarket.xyz/, and the steps:
- Claude, on the web and in Claude Desktop: open Customize > Connectors, click +, then Add custom connector, and paste the address. Sign in to OpenMarket when asked. In a chat, turn it on from + > Connectors. Free Claude plans allow one custom connector.
- ChatGPT, on the web for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts: in Settings > Security and login, turn on Developer mode. Open Plugins, click +, name it OpenMarket and paste the address under Connection. Sign in to OpenMarket when asked. In a chat, choose Developer mode from the + menu and select OpenMarket.
What can a connected agent do?
You choose its access when you sign in:
- Read only: view your charts, indicators and drawings.
- Read and control charts: read and change your charts, indicators and drawings, for example switch to another market, add a moving average or draw a line at the latest price.
- Read, control charts and trade: chart control plus orders placed through your open chart tab, inside limits you set there.
- Alerts and watchlists: create and manage alerts, and read and edit watchlists.
An agent can also read market data, such as candles, for the markets OpenMarket covers. It cannot read CME futures data: see Can AI agents and the API use CME data?
How do I disconnect an agent?
Click Agents in the footer, then Manage. On the Agents page, Disconnect drops an agent's live session, and the agent can reconnect. Revoke ends its sign-in for good. While an agent is connected to a chart, Replay is off on that chart.
For scripts and clients that cannot sign in through a browser, the same page creates agent tokens. To pull market data into your own code instead, see Is there an API key?
