Can I see FOMC, CPI and other economic events on the chart?

Yes, when you are signed in. Right-click the time axis and turn on Market events: markers for US releases such as CPI, nonfarm payrolls and FOMC appear along the bottom of the chart. New charts start with it off.

Yes, when you are signed in. Right-click the time axis, the row of dates along the bottom of the chart, and turn on Market events. New charts start with it off, and each chart has its own switch.

A marker then sits just above the time axis for each release. Hover it for the details, such as the forecast, the previous figure and, once it is out, the actual. Upcoming events cover the next 45 days, and the past week stays marked.

What shows depends on the chart's market:

  • Every chart: major US economic releases, such as CPI, PPI, nonfarm payrolls, FOMC decisions, GDP, PCE and jobless claims.
  • Futures, forex, commodity and US stock charts: US Treasury auctions too.
  • Crypto charts: expiries of crypto options and futures.
  • A US stock chart: that company's earnings reports and dividends.

For a list instead of markers, open the Events panel from the Panels menu. The footer also shows the next event with a countdown.

No markers after you turned them on? Right-click the chart, choose Settings…, then Events, and check that Show market events is on. That switch hides the markers on every chart at once.
